Aidan Shorey

Aidan Shorey is a senior Instrumental Music Education major at the University of Northern Iowa, studying euphonium under Dr. Stephanie Ycaza. Shorey grew up in Sioux City, IA where he studied under Dr. Tony Hutchins, former low brass professor at Morningside College. Shorey graduated from North High School in 2019 and was very active in his school’s music program. He continues to be musically active at UNI through organizations such as Panther Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, UNITUBA, Iowa Bandmasters Association, and plays in many chamber ensembles. Shorey is a blossoming church musician and fills in on piano and organ for tired church musicians. Throughout high school and presently, Shorey has given private lessons on euphonium, trombone, and tuba for beginning/middle school players. Lessons include, but are not limited to, music theory, audition preparation, and growth overall as a musician. He also teaches beginner piano lessons eager young musicians. Above all, his goal is to equip the next generation of musicians with the ability to praise God in the music they create!
